Our History
The firm traces its origins to the Christchurch legal practice established by Arthur Rhodes in 1884. He was joined in partnership by Michael Godby and John Heaton Rhodes to form Rhodes Ross. In 1934, Alan Fraser commenced practice in Rangiora, later joined by Sir Howard Kippenberger. The two firms merged in 1949 to create Rhodes Godby & Fraser, later renamed Rhodes Fraser & Co. David Crerar joined the partnership in 1972 and Ron Williams in 1978. A merger with Rodney Venning formed Fraser Venning Crerar, renamed Crerar Williams in 1999. Tania McKenzie became a partner in 2002. On 1 August 2008, Crerar Williams changed its name to Williams McKenzie.
With our excellent service and loyalty to our clients, we continue to lead North Canterbury into the future.
