Ron Williams Retires

Ron Williams Retires

Date   July 14, 2022
Details   Ron Williams became a partner in Rhodes Fraser and Co in 1978. The firm later changed its name to Fraser Venning Crerar and then Crerar Williams. When David Crerar took up the position of Coroner in Dunedin in 2007, Tania McKenzie who had been with the firm since 1995 took over David’s share of the partnership. Ron and Tania have, together with a great team, ensured Williams McKenzie has remained a prominent law firm in the district.

More recently Ron had enjoyed a consulting role since retiring from day to day practice in 2018, allowing additional time to follow his passion for cycling and spending more time with his family.

We now take the opportunity to congratulate Ron on his full retirement from the business. He will be missed by everyone in the office and his long standing clients. Tania McKenzie will continue to lead the team.
Ron is still a Rangiora local so please give him a wave when he flies past on his bike or you catch him relaxing in the local cafes.
Our History

Our History

Details   The firm traces its origins to the Christchurch legal practice established by Arthur Rhodes in 1884. He was joined in partnership by Michael Godby and John Heaton Rhodes to form Rhodes Ross. In 1934, Alan Fraser commenced practice in Rangiora, later joined by Sir Howard Kippenberger. The two firms merged in 1949 to create Rhodes Godby & Fraser, later renamed Rhodes Fraser & Co. David Crerar joined the partnership in 1972 and Ron Williams in 1978. A merger with Rodney Venning formed Fraser Venning Crerar, renamed Crerar Williams in 1999. Tania McKenzie became a partner in 2002. On 1 August 2008, Crerar Williams changed its name to Williams McKenzie.

With our excellent service and loyalty to our clients, we continue to lead North Canterbury into the future.

A notary public has internationally recognised authority to witness signatures on legal documents, administer oaths and certify the authenticity of legal documents.

Points to note about Williams McKenzie Notary service:

Appointments are essential.  Williams McKenzie will endeavour to arrange appointments at short notice for urgent matters, if at all possible.

Documents to be notarised must be brought in at least 2 days before the appointment so that we can assess what is required and prepare supporting certificates.

The Notary fee depends on the size and complexity of the documents required to be notarised.  There is a minimum charge of $120 plus GST.

Payment is required at the time of your appointment.  EFTPOS and credit card facilities are available.

Passport or driver’s licence must be brought to the appointment.

If the document being notarised refers to a specific identity document, the notary will need to sight that particular document.

If you need to sign any documents, DO NOT sign them until your appointment as the Notary must witness you signing them.
